“Tara Young’s experience and expert knowledge of show business is unsurpassed. What is most impressive is her passion and ability to selflessly pass on the information she has gathered throughout her career, guiding young students who either have an interest or who have chosen to pursue a career in musical theater. She is precise, engaging, inspiring and allows students to not only dream of being on Broadway, but show them it is possible with clear thinking, goal setting and encouraging a strong sense of self.”

“I am changed after taking Tara Young’s Broadway Workshop. She beautifully and passionately communicates the, “behind the table,” perspective like I have never seen or heard before. I now enter audition rooms feeling open and empowered to be myself without any resignation and to risk fearlessly. This class is inspiringly brilliant and has rocked my world.”

We were so honored to have Tara Young teach a seminar for us. Because of her wide variety of professional experiences, Tara had incredible information to share and an effective way of communicating with our students. Her warm personality and teaching style is an amazing addition to our faculty and we look forward to Tara teaching again soon.

Dear Tara,

I want to thank you officially and in writing for the workshop experience in November. Having you on campus for two days was an invaluable shot of nutrients and adrenalin for students and faculty alike. For students to come directly into contact with “Broadway” is a frightening proposition for them because in spite of all our conversations, they just can’t know what to expect in terms of the climate of the room or your expectations, however, your innate ability to hold a group of frightened students in your hands and transform them into assured artists was nothing short of magical. You made every student with whom you came into contact feel special, prepared, and FEARLESS as you brought the illusive “neon lights of Broadway” right down into their own hands as real human interactions of collaboration and creation.

Every aspect of the two days including the industry chat, the mock audition, and the audition feedback session were interesting, fun, and inspiring. The sense of absolute joy you bring into the room is contagious. My students are still referring to your visit (“you’re enough,” “because she’s not delusional,” “sure, because we’re all human”) in their final process papers for Advanced Scene Study.

I encourage you to offer this experience to high schools, colleges, conservatories – really, to anyone in artistic collaboration who will listen. Our investment in this experience will pay back into our program ten fold as the students absorb and pass on your messages of hard work, truth, integrity, and humanity. These are the truths that we try to pass onto our students and spending two days with a current professional who lives and teaches these values was remarkably encouraging and validating for both students and faculty alike. We were comfortable with all the processes, conversations, and feedback and I can’t thank you enough for your time, endless energy, and generous spirit. If you ever decide to take this workshop “on the road” please feel free to use me (or this letter) as a reference.

In a short time, Tara has changed everything.  There is no combination of consonants and vowels that would adequately express the value of studying with Tara.  Her knowledge and acumen are boundless.  Her kindness and warmth are transformative.  Her teaching style is at once strikingly powerful and calmly genuine. I met Tara a year ago with raw enthusiasm and intense desire, but lacked an understanding of where to direct them and how best to focus my efforts. Informed by her extensive and impressive experience, she carefully molded my talent, and re guided my energy down more concrete and productive channels.  In such a competitive and often brutal industry, having such a wise champion in my corner is indeed a rare and precious find.  I can honestly say that any and all success I have in this industry will be in large part if not entirely due to what I have learned from Tara. Thank you can never be enough!

To work with Tara is to find a gold mine! Her knowledge of the business, coupled with her caring nature, creates an environment where honesty and inspiration, meet practical application! After working with Tara, not only do I have a game plan for accomplishing my goals, but my self doubt is gone, and I am on my way, with fresh perspective! Thank you Tara!”

I could easily write five pages, single spaced, enumerating the invaluable advice and information I learned from Tara Young. “If nothing changes, nothing changes.” At our first meeting Tara shared this phrase with me, along with many other audition & career related tips and tools. This phrase in particular, along with the fool proof “file-it-away” system, enable me to enter and leave every audition with a new found confidence in knowing I have represented myself in the best way possible.
